Biodiversity of the Lumbee Tribe Cultural Center
This biodiversity website was completed as a service-learning project by Conservation Biology students at the University of North Carolina at Pembroke during fall semesters of 2019-2022. Periodically during the semester, the class visited the Lumbee Tribe Cultural Center to create a biodiversity survey of species present along the nature trail and elsewhere in the center. Numerous species of plants, birds, fungi, and insects, were observed by the students. This website is a compilation of these observations, along with cultural significance of some of the species to the tribe.
